Charities
Team devOcean have decided to support two charities as a result of taking part in this adventure. One of the main reasons for taking part in this event was the fabulous opportunity to raise much needed financial support for the following two charities:
NCH - one of the UK’s leading children’s charities, aims to help children achieve their full potential. Through their services, they support some of the UK’s most vulnerable and excluded children and young people.
NCH was founded in 1869 and known for many years as the National Children’s Home. They are now known as “NCH, the children’s charity”.
The children, young people and families they work with and support, face difficulties and issues such as poverty, disability and abuse.
Baraq Ministries - Established 1989 - A charity with a big heart for outreach work in Romania. It’s new project to fulfill the goal of building their first childrens home (one of many) ‘The House of Rahab’. A sanctuary for the maimed, desperate, street-children of that country.
The charity is also looking to then provide and support a community center and a school, both of which will be ‘The John Johnson Center’. Dedicated in loving memory, of a much loved friend and co-worker of the charity, John Johnson.
